When I show up to a wedding to shoot, I ask myself: What are the twenty photographs that I can make, ones where at the end of life, if I were a genie and could grant them twenty photographs to relive one more time, what would those photographs be. Would it be a stylized portrait? Would it be a detail photo? Or would it be something that feels real. My approach is to let the wedding actually happen. The photographs will follow. I will guide if need be, and dance and move with the wave that is your wedding. But I prefer to ride it, than force it into something it's not. I want you to actually be present in y our wedding. So that when you look back on your photos you can think, "Ah, that's what it was actually like" Don't be a tourist of your own memories. We're here to live.
